What are the dimensions of the wood box you built? Looks nice.

The 3/4" base is 48" x 33" so it would rest on the forward tube of the rack. I've included afew images, to confuse things.
20170202 052645 resized I angled the forward corners of the base to fit between the roll cage.

20170202 052607 resized I notched the top front of the box to avoid rubbing on the roll cage.

20170201 130534 resized The box is 48" x 32"; abit smaller than the base, because the roll cage is sloped back alittle. The sides are made of 1/2" plywood and are 6 3/4" tall. The box extends past the rear bumper by an inch or so. I'd make it 31" deep next time.

20170202 052715 resized The chain saw is securely bungied in. Bungies are hooked into three eye-bolts.

I used construction grade plywood left over from our house build. It was free. I keep the Dirt Pig in the garage so the wood will last for years.

Many thanks. I haven't bought mine yet, but I'm in the market, and gathering ideas, so when I get mine, I can hit the road running. Thanks

Thursday ride & spin-out

20170202 image Went for a 55 km ride on the logging roads. Was on gravel, hard-pack snow and glare ice at different times. Recorded the ride on the Garmin GPS then visualized it using 'BaseCamp'.

20170202 spin out The little triangle on the GPS track shows where I did a 180 going 35 km/h. I almost s#*t myself. We were rolling along nice, glare ice but a level road. The rig shifted gears and that was enough to get the rear end moving to the side alittle. There was nothing I could do but go for the ride. When we were sliding sideways, I knew that if the tires caught any traction we'd have been on our side. Luckily we did a 180, slowed down and stopped. I learned not to speed on ice. While on the ice, I kept it at or under 20 km/h thereafter.

20170202 113934 resized Nice to get down to the beach.

20170202 132117 resized Good views.

20170202 143624 resized We were on 18"-24" of hard packed snow. If we'd broken through, we could not have made any progress. The ITP Mudlites bit into the hard crust pretty good.
FYI Al

Installed Shark radio from my wrecked motorcycle (deer hit), used double socket 12v plug and zip tied remote to unused socket. Speakers on existing bolts on door lock, radio under hood in tub. Nice and out of the way.

I like the speaker location but it looks like they stick out? Been looking for ways to spread out the sound in mine and there just isn't much room for it. Bet it sounds good though?

They were actually inside the fender line, but did move them under the hood for better basss tone. Used the existing upper hole in frame uprights on either side. Much better sound and plastic tub still fits.

My trip came to the end today , we saw lots of bull elk, and cows, all bulls where on my side and all cows stayed at neighbors place, I think our neighbors let someone hunt this weekend and about 15 shots over two days from their side, cow elk herd left this morning.

I did all snow fun with my P500 , burried it several times and used winch once, but mostly was digging it out. I think I want to make V shape plow just to make new snow trails, and I have idea about DIY project of creating tracks for P500.

I will duplicate videos with elk and deer, mule deer was naive enough to just to stare at me and then listening to my honk, then I stepped out of P500 and they continued to feed, so we have lunch together, them eating the grass , me - sitting outside eating sandwich with hot tea.
