P1000 What in the heck is this?

While wiring a cooling fan under the seat I found this weird rod running from the seat frame under the floorboard and connecting to the firewall. It’s loose at both ends and can be wiggled. Doesn’t seem to have a purpose but Im sure it does. anyone know what this does? Thanks in advance.

Just floorboard support.
Some have said it is a source of rattling at certain RPMs.
I have a similar rattling and never looked into it yet. I bet that's it.
I would recommend trying to better secure it from movement while you have it apart.

just use some silicone around each end where it goes into the frames and that will stop the rattle.

Thank you, great idea for the rattle solution. I kinda figured it was a support of some kind just couldn’t figure out why it was left loose on both ends and why it wasn’t actually snug or even close to the bottom of the floor board. I guess it allows for the frame to flex?🤷‍♂️
