A lot about the new trucks is personal preference. There really a dime a piece. Buy whatever one is cheapest. When I went truck shopping I drove and delt on all the big 3 diesels. Loved all of them. The f250 similarly equipped was $12,000 more than the gmc,and ram. I really liked the new gmc look, especially with the hood scoop. But liked the interior the least. Ram had the best interior imop and the legendary Cummins. But if the Ford would of been in the same ball park I would of strongly considered it. But both gm and ferd only have 60,000 warranty on their diesels where ram was still 100,000. That really made up my mind. Which is not easy on a purchase this dam expensive!

Like @Plumber32 said they're all the same. I bought a GMC, well because I've always owned GM. But anymore I look at safety features and the various traction control systems being very important. Not sure about the other brands but auto 4wd in my 1500 is pretty awesome. I tow on steep curvy icy roads in the winter regularly to go hunt and trap. 5k behind you can be pretty interesting on skating rink roads, but my truck just chugs right along without getting too sporty.

You must have meant the powertrain on the Ford being 5-60,000. My 15' Platinum has 5,100,000 on the motor just like the Internationals that we're in my other Fords. I can't speak for GM, that ship done sailed away from me some time ago and I don't keep up with there's anymore . This is what's in my manual828a1bdbbb7475d49246cec55329804f

Ok, I thought you meant the motor. My misunderstanding then. No worries. Didn't mean to come off so harsh on my comments.

Been there done that, everyone should own a oil burner and a plumbing company. At the same time, talk about trouble, like I said, been there done that!

My 2011 Sierra will be getting traded in on a Toyota Tundra Dbl cab 4x4 at some point in the near future. No more GM!

If only they would bring the ultra sweet twin turbo V8 diesel the rest of the world gets

Ya that doesn't make sense, Americans are slowly embracing diesels like the rest of the world does. From what I heard about 5-6 years ago when first talk of Nissan/Cummins, Toyota was supposed to be doing the same thing but now they're getting behind the curve. However they are still the most dependable overall so they sell themselves

I have to settle for a 30 year old, non-USA BJ74 Land Cruiser with a 13B-T engine (3.4L, 4cyl, direct injected, turbo diesel). But man does it put a grin on my face....

I'm with ya on that Crusher however I'd opt for the Cummins 4bt but I'd take your pick happily

Parts are definitely more available for the Cummins, but the Toyota diesel is much smoother.

I will admit it is hard to find folks who know that engine. Closest guy I trust with it is 8 hours away in Thomasville, GA. He tweaked the fuel a bit and has rebuilt both the injectors and injector pump. Next step is an intercooler and maybe a more modern turbo.

You will love the truck, but won't like the MPG, thing is though, hook a trailer on, MPG will drop 1/10, it's a throw back to the way trucks used to be. My average is 14.7 MPG
