? Replaced wheels and tires on p5 would like to use one of the original wheel/tire as spare. Which would be better front or back or neither
The front wheel/tire will work on the rear: it is smaller to carry, just like the idiotic spares that come with most new cars. WARNING!!! DO NOT EXCEED 50 MPH WHEN YOU ARE USING IT!

If it's a different diameter you're not supposed to do that.
Good point Trigger. I hadn't thought about that. It certainly would be bad for the rear differential to have have tires with different circumferences mounted as one of them would always be dragging. For a short distance (a few miles) to get you out of a bad situation do you think it would result in an expensive repair needed?

Trigger I put 26” tires on 12” rims so not a good idea to use original for spare?have 9” on front and 11” rear now. If I order a spare should I get 9” to use for front and rear

So, after a lot of back and forth this is what I'm getting,

Traxion Gripper 8 ply radials

Front 27x9-14 on Size: 14X7, Offset: 5+2, Pattern: 4/110 rims

Rear 27x11-14 Size: 14X7, Offset: 5+2, Pattern: 4/110 rims

I think I over analyzed this upgrade, and read too much into the details of upsizing tires and rims...

I'm using a 9" spare and I now have 11's on all four. Just takes up less room and less weight, still 26" though so it'll do in a pinch. Running a smaller diameter on one wheel for a short distance wouldn't be too detrimental I wouldn't think. Wouldn't suggest running it all day or anything.

Just checking but are your tires 27x9- 14**** 14" tire. If so make sure to order 14" wheels..... looks like you have 12x8 wheels on the order!

The width of the rim (8) has to add up to the offset numbers !!!!.........unless my brain is having a malfunction, it doesn't make sense to me

different wheels on the back is fine, worst it would give you was weird handling. the front is what you shouldn't do, the diff will spin a lot more than it was designed for
