FWIW, I have a Warn VRX 45S, it's a 4500 pound with the synthetic rope. I havent had to use it yet. If i had to do it over, i would go with a Ramsey 5000 pound (at least) since they're made in the US. I am pretty sure the Warn Axon is made here too. On a side note, I had a superwinch 2500 pound on my grizzly for like 12 years. I beat the s*it out of that winch and never had an issue until I sheared a bunch of teeth off the planetary. And the electric motor was shot at that point as well. But it took everything else I threw at it.

3500/4000# is plenty for these machines imo , even at 2000#'s- I just look at carrying the extra weight\expense for something that is used 1% ? of the time and really not needed

if its stuck in the mud, that suction is a horrible load, if you have to go to a tree or winch from other anchored machines, its not a biggie to add a snatch block and double back and double the pulling force, etc...

watched way too many matts offload recovery videos in the last year, learned a ton about stuck vehicles

waiting for scud to be launched:eek:

Warn Axon 45. The thing I like best about it is the setup. Positive and negative leads to power source and key on power wire. That’s all it takes to have it up and running. No solenoids to mess with. The rocker switch also comes with a plug instead of a five pin setup. Pretty much a plug and play system

It should fit just fine, I have the vrx 45-s and it fits great. 2020 1k5 deluxe. From what I can find, the axon is very close in size (like tenths of an inch difference). But I'm sure someone with an axon will be along soon....welcome from Minnesota...you have any pics of that rig?

I’m not sure about using a mounting plate but it’s easy peasy with the Warn bumper
