I am new to the forum and new to the sxs world. I’m purchasing a 1000-5 deluxe and have been looking at options for several accessories. The biggest hang up is the Winch. I know I would like Warn because I’ve owned them before and had awesome luck out of them both. I’m just not sure about size. I want at least a 4500 but after reading on here some I’m starting to think I should go 6000. But what Warn winch will fit?

Unless you’re purposely seeking out mud holes to bury it in then 4,500 will handle it. A snatch block can double your pulling power (yeah yeah minus friction and any angle loss). Just one guy’s opinion of course.

I agree with what @JeremieBaker said, 4500 is plenty unless your planning on pulling all of The DC swamp out at once!

Welcome to the forum and the SxS world. What was said ^^^^ IMO.
And remember line pull ratings increase with a lesser # of layers of line spooled on the winch drum. So in a situation with a heavy pull, it may be best to choose an anchor point further away, but check the owners manual for the minimum # of layers needing to stay around the drum.

Welcome from Mississippi. Smitty and I both have the Viper II 6000 lb with synthetic rope. The Club Store has most of your winching needs covered. More is usually better when winching. Buy once cry once.

Welcome, @KirbyHonda. Personally, I think a 4500# winch is too small for the P1K's.

Oh, and don't mind this guy ... he's a little weird, but usually harmless.

Welcome from BC. I would go with what @Mopower58 says. The club store has great service and will hook you up with what you need.

A 4500 is way more than enough,

Educate yourself a little on basic physics/winching as most end up going 6k + lol.

Some people don't get stuck as badly as others. Don't buy too small of a winch, saying I shoulda bought a bigger winch won't help when you're really stuck.
