So I found me thread again...these are from driving through the lower part of Mt Rainier NP in Washington...on me way to Elbe Hills ORV.

These are from Elbe Hills with me uncle,cousin and his wife as well as @popeye and his buddy Cash. I gave popeye my iPad and he took a bunch of pix for me. That spot the ‘Log Jam’ ? Was really fun. For not have a huge amount of trails to ride at only 11 miles, it certainly had the most technical and challenging trails so far on this trip. On a scale of 1-5, I’d have to give it a 4.75
The trails were great and fun. I just wish there were more. The best spot for camping was south of the Campground in the Tahoma State Forest. The CG filled up quick with a lot of young whippersnappers but they were all kind and respectful nonetheless. They had some awesome trail rigs too!
There were plenty of flowers in bloom, namely the Digitalis or Foxglove which has been synthesized by big pharma for heart medicines. Beautiful but deadly if consumed. Not safe to eat. You will die! Also, the white ones are less common than the pink and purple varieties....
I do love horticulture. It’s all there for a reason. Much if it is useful and more than you think.

These are from Tahuya ORV. I’m sorry there aren’t more. I only stayed the night a rode the next day. There were some folks living at camp Spillman and prior campers had left loads of garbage and a bed.... I did discover that you can camp at the staging area and considered staying another night but after dealing with the literally screaming and cursing ‘local population ‘ I decided to take off after riding. There’s a limited amount of trails (In Purple) for SXS’s. What was there was certainly fun and entertaining. Awesome racetrack feel with some challenging trails as well made for larger 4x4’s. It is definitely worth a visit! Out of 1-5, I’d give it a 3.5
More trails and less gates
Less homeless people living at Camp Spillman
Staging area better suited for serious campers. Tent and RV sites are available there too.
Trails were well marked.

After leaving Tahuya I headed south towards Tillamook ORV but decided to stop and get a campsite at Ft. Stevens State Park near Astoria. This was at one time during WW2, a shore battery to guard against a Japanese invasion. There are many more gun emplacements but being pressed for time I only visited two of the batteries. There’s access to the beach as well and I really wanted to get me feet wet in the Pacific...

Off to Tillamook OHV Area. This Oregon state forest boasts up to 250 miles of riding. Wether motorcycle, ATV, SXS or 4x4. This area has lots to offer. There were 3-4 campgrounds SW of where I was along Route 6. Most had trail access but Brown’s Camp was closer to the SXS trails themselves. All the trails are clearly marked and maps are provided. I’ll post a map picture at some point. There are trails that range from easy all the way to 3 Black Diamonds for extremely difficult. Sadly, I was only able to do the moderate and easy trails. I had hoped to try Firebreak number five, which was rated at one black diamond but before I was able to try more trails, the sidewalk on my stock tires blew through enough to stuff it with 12-15plugs before it’d hold enough air to get me back to camp. Even with my tire issues, out of 1-5, I’d rate this area at 5+ due to all the other roads and trails. Apparently there are even more available to ATV and motorcycles. Many are gated to width restrictions though. For the moderate trails I did ride, I’d definitely say they were fun and challenging at times and included some steep hill climbs and descents. The higher rated trails showed large boulders at most trail heads and looked quite challenging mainly the numbered 14 trails.
