Probably even less likely than the factory Talon turbo. I rode to Crown King with a Yamaha dealer from back East, and he is pretty disgusted with the state of affairs with Yamaha's dirt group.

The lack of a low gear in the transfer case makes it useless for anything other than dunes, dirt roads and short course racing. Yamaha will never turbo the YXZ.
I agree that having no low range kills the YXZ for many of us. I bought my off road toys from one Yamaha dealer for 50 years, right up until the Talon. I really wanted to continue that connection but, even as a first time SxS buyer, I knew that the YXZ would suck for me. The Youtube Blown Budget Offroad guys had YXZs for awhile and watching them trying to rock crawl was a real eye opener.

Didn't they add a gear to make it better at crawling?

It has a lower first gear in the transmission than the originals, but still only has a single speed transfer case.

The YXZ suspension also sucks. The front shocks are mounted at way to much of an inward angle to work correctly and the rear A arm style suspension design is crappy to say the least.

The YXZ sales are not very good, so Yamaha knows they need an all-new Sport model. I put over 20,000 miles on one. I added the heavy flywheel, and it allowed me to ride some tough trails. Rock crawling was not possible. The 6-speed trans with the super low gear and a supercharged engine should sell well if they keep it light and fix the suspension. After over 60,000 miles on my Talons, it will be hard for me to buy anything else. I'm too old and probably still too stupid to have a high horsepower turbo.

^^100%^^

When the YXZ was first introduced, my business partner was at the Sand Show, and when he walked over to look at it there was a fellow there studying it pretty intently. When my partner asked him what he was studying, he gave a pretty long dissertation, which boiled down to a polite way to say, "This suspension design sucks". That guy turned out to be the late, great Gil George, founder of Funco, a guy who knew A LOT about suspension.

That Yammy motor is bulletproof and its fun as hell to bang through gears, but it definitely has its power, gearing, and suspension limitations. Besides the new LOW gear, it hasn't changed one bit since it was first dropped back in 2015/2016 to compete with the RZR XP 1k.

I'd LOVE to see a 250+HP - 72"+ wide Yamaha flagship, but they don't seem to be too ambitious in the 4 wheel dirt department. I'm betting the brass and bean counters are still timid after the legal nightmares they went through with the Rhino.
