Thx. It just seems odd that there now zero air through the diff shifter but still blowing thru tranny shifter?
I think the big thing is there's air closer to ambient temp now so it's just tougher to decipher than the hot air off the radiator

Additionally since the deflector diverts the air down as it comes out of the radiator you are cutting off air flow towards the dash.

Well I just cracked the front of the hood and drove around that seems to corrected the problem. I guess the down side is I'd get more dirt/dust in there. We don't really mud or use the machine as a boat so it may be the ticket.

I just installed the 2017 air dam on our late VIN 2016. It had the holes pre-drilled and with pulling the right wheel, shock and intake flex hose, the installation was very smooth and straight forward...not at all the problem I thought it was gonna be. Going to ride tomorrow and see if there is a difference in airflow through the shifter.

Thanks all for the tip on a $20 upgrade...

Makes you wonder about the pre drilled holes, think Honda knew there was an issue with heat, I think they knew and with all the heat issues coming from the seat thought no one would notice the heat coming from the front, I didn't until last week end at Bear Creek Ride after I had the (cab comfort shield put in), the heat from the front is HOT, but not any where near the seat heat. Iv'e got the shield for the front, just haven't had a chance to install it, the four small push pins that attaches the rubber flap to the polymer deflector is not yet available from Honda?????? Let us know if it helps!

You don't need the 4 Honda specific push pins to mate the rubber to the plastic. Any 6mm/5/16" push pin will work.

Honda made the improvement for 2017. It's quite possible the lead time on the plastic parts was longer than the design change to the frame to add the mounting holes. I'm excited to see what Honda changes for 18 and hopefully Honda keeps the changes backwards compatible. Can't really complain about how easy Honda has made improvements to install on these machines. It really justifies their commitment to building a consumer product that works

For the rubber piece I used short aluminum pop rivets with a flat washer backup on the back side. Looks factory

My deflector parts showed up yesterday so I put them in this afternoon got lucky frame already had holes in it. For the fasteners that are on back order I went to my local Sears they have a great assortment of push in auto type fasteners 2.50 for 4 of them.
I also ordered the parts for the pre filter upgrade and installed those today also. 27dc999fd776e07b20b0496c95ea50a3

There was recently a thread about a lift kit not fitting on a 2017 LE due to the deflector behind the radiator. After a little research I ordered the 2017 Radiator air deflector this past weekend. The parts are #12 19071-HL4-F00 PLATE, AIR GUIDE and #13 19072-HL4-F00 RUBBER, AIR GUIDE. I think this should help reduce some of the hot air from the radiator going through the dash.

At my dealer this was around $12 in parts. They will have to look up the 2017 LE as it has them installed from the factory. It's possible all late 2017 models have them but I have only seen the LE. Here it is on the LE

Here's how the install went. Remove the whole under hood

New parts. I skipped the Honda fasteners and drilled the holes out for a 5/16 push pin

Test fit. I used the left (driver's side) most hole as a reference point to the 2017 frame drawing

Drilling holes, a total pain

Do the 2 little tabs on the top of the deflector plate have a function? Do they need to be lined up with anything?

There is a wiring bundle that it separates from the frame

Hey guys, just strolled along this thread, going to order these for my 16, I see mine already has predrilled holes, just want to make sure this isn't part of the cab comfort improvement, getting that and clutch done next week?

You have an early 17 then, that was what I was told, you will have the holes marked for the under dash storage also, which was nice!

Can anyone report how much these parts actually help as far as eliminating hot air and dust through the shifter holes ?
