Why not use a torque, set to the proper torque?
Because people demand the satification of the "click" and throw out all other common sense feeling when tightening these bolts.

It doesn't matter how many time they turn it. It must "click" or there not satisfied.

Book calls for the "dry" and "new" torque specs. They are no longer dry or new. Torquing a dry screw is a lot different then one lubed up. (TWSS).
I have some info to add on this later.

Pro tip..
The dip stick is not the oil fill location.
(ps.. clean thst s*** before you check your oil.)

The correct location is under the center cover with the "not a step" on it..

Whill I guess the dip stick spot has been used by many... Please let the oil settle for sometime before cranking. Hate for you to bust your case open.

Dip stick checked out. Hard to see the clean oil tho..

Last step is to reset the maint reminder.
- Turn key off.
- push and hold the menu button
- turn key to on (do not crank) continue to hold.
- only the wrench should appear. Continue to hold the button until it flashes 2 or 3 times. (About 5 seconds or so)Then release the button.
Done.

I know someone will fuss at me, but I have NEVER used a torque on anything...... dirtbike, atv, utv, tractor, veh, or track loader, I go by the 'feel'. Yes, I have over-tighten a couple before, but dont recall ever having a bolt/nut just fall off.
This is the method that I use as well.

put down a big piece of cardboard or whatever to catch the spilled oil. With the skid panel and access holes to get to the drain plugs the way they are located on my machine you quite possible will take an oil shower and get oil everywhere.

You forgot to mention step 1...... thoroughly clean the area with a couple of white claws and scrub with your man bun tie thingy!
