No, I'm only good at troubleshooting when it's in front of me. But it sounds like a bad winch if all the voltages are there.@my99svt
Got any input on this?
So I believe that you should hook the Red (wire from the battery) directly to the winch (or red wire from the winch) and the Black wire (ground honda) to the Black wire ground from the winch. Should not wire to the busbar unless I am not understand what this particular Busbar isI just did all of this last week. I did not have a black wire by the battery, only the red one. I hooked the red directly to the battery. Under the hood, or cowling you have to remove, you have the red and black wire. I hooked those up to a XTC busbar harness that also utilizes the accessory plug. I wired the winch wires into the busbar and it works fine. My only guess is the black is grounded somewhere or hooked into a wiring harness and that is grounded and linked to the neg on the battery. The R and X are the same when it comes to the wiring.
What your saying will work, and I think you mean to connect those to the winch solenoid. The bus bar is used if you want to power other accessories. If you buy a kit like the XTC, you can plug the accessory plug, that Honda supplies, into it and then you can run other stuff from that power point. It's a great place to hook relays in for stuff like LED lights. Doing this is just a way to have an easy place to access your power, both battery, and power from the keyed ignition. The XTC kit gives you more power for accessories as it accesses the battery power, and ignition power. Many folks on this site have it as well.So I believe that you should hook the Red (wire from the battery) directly to the winch (or red wire from the winch) and the Black wire (ground honda) to the Black wire ground from the winch. The Black wire (honda) should be tied directly to a honda ground point (already) could check to make sure that is true
