I'll bet that you're more careful of your nuts from now on.
That could have been a real problem if you'd have been going at highway speeds.
I was just coming off the highway. Plus the P5 was strapped down on it and It spun right at highway speed but when I slowed down off the exit ramp, it was clunkity clunk. It could’ve been really bad! Counting those blessings!

Well, it looks like I am more than likely going to be heading back home at this point. Tomorrow I’m going to go head over to Hartsel Colorado to go riding with @SouthParkColorado near Hartsel for a few days before making the long trek home. It’s supposed to be 22 hours from there to my home and so I’m thinking about not rushing and breaking it up into three days and try to stay at State parks along the way. They always have hot showers, electrical hookups and never much more than $30 per night.

Today I got a new rim -Old one pictured where rim almost fell off. I also got 5 new studs pressed into my hub, new lug nuts and some wiring. Road worthy. Still having problems with rear right turn signal and brake light, so I bought a set of magnetized turn signals just to be legal. Those magnets typically are very weak so I am also going to use large zip ties to strap it down to the rails of the trailer so when I hit a bump they don’t just fall off.

Dang it...you make it tough to live vicariously through you when you keep doing this "return east" thing! I guess we all have to come home eventually, but the Takeover will be epic, I suspect. Safe travels, as usual.

I’ll be headed through Pootucky on my way home. Believe me when I say this; I really want to stay out west and find another home, but many of those areas are still dealing with a deep cold and wet winter. I have issues with the farm and family that need addressing before I can officially relocate.

No pootucky. Head south to the 40 and turn left.

Heading down valley with @SouthParkColorado towards Buena Vista, then Salida along the Arkansas River to the OHV area known as Texas Creek. It was an awesome beginning running up into Bull Run through a large boulder strewn trail barely wide enough for us to pass. Beyond that, we went climbing higher in elevation up some very difficult steep and rocky trails. We came upon some old mine tailings and found lots of Plagioclase, both white and rose Quartz, Muscovite and Biotite. None of the strata appeared to be fossil bearing but there were crystals in abundance. Above the trails we came to many vistas and overlooks of some amazing and awe inspiring splendor! Many more trails were up there but don’t show up on this commercial Texas Creek map. My Garmin In Reach Explorer blue-toothed to my iPad is a huge advantage in the deep backcountry areas I ride in. Today was slow going and rocky rough and we estimate that we rode some 30 miles or so but just about every direction we looked we were rewarded with such grand landscapes so few folks ever get to see.

Toto we’re still in Kansas. I’m officially on my way home. I left Colorado this morning and am staying at the Owls nest RV CG in Junction City Kansas. I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone but it’s convenient and close to the interstate. I’ll be home by Wednesday and not only getting ready to plant my orchard, but also prepping for the takeover.
