P1000 Anyone opened up their Muffler?

Was curious if anyone had drilled a couple of plates in their muffler to let it breath a little better and let out a little more sound.. Not a lot of sound just a more mellow tone.

Yea I did it on my Polaris 850 too. Made a nice growl and seemed to run better.

There's a thread on here where someone modified the tip, it sounded great. I wish I could tell you where it was.

Thanks. Large holes. Looks like 7/8 inch or close to it. Like to hear a sound file.

Never mind, found the sound file later in the thread.. Sounds like the spark arrester was removed too.

I drilled two 5/8" holes in the baffle today and it's perfect. Throatier and felt smoother on acceleration, but maybe it's all in my head.

You didn't alter the spark arrestor?

I'm surprised a Chinese company hasn't come out with a louder tip for it. Like the ones for the foreman's and ranchers.

I've had the spark arrestor off for awhile now, no danger of fire where I drive it on my property. I will install it this weekend and report back.

Like putting baseball cards in your spokes. It just feels faster
