Winter is getting its act together and after a day of temperatures in the mid teens along with 35-45 mph winds, my neighbors CanAm with enclosed cab really has the advantage over my Honda. I’m underwhelmed by the cost of the hard doors and lesser options... Honda really needs to get their act together and offer cab enclosure options. Just ‘saying

Sorry to be blunt but I’m not following the logic….nearly 25k ish machine and complaining about the enclosure and its cost

Less than 3 months ago people were complaining about how hot it was inside their enclosures and wanting AC and all this other garbage.

I pulled the trigger on a base P1k5 plus gen1 enclosure in 2018. Take the medicine once and move on. All SXS accessories are expensive regardless of brand.
When your eyeball deep in a 25k toy / machine, what’s another 1k?

I've got the Seizmik upper soft door's. Yes, they help keep the wind off of you, but they aren't perfect. And l agree that any other sxs brand will seal better for the cab. Honda needs to work on that, but l don't want a rubber band under my butt.

I’m complaining about the cost of hard doors @ $4K for two. Gonna weigh my options... just looking for opinions about what works for folks here

I get that... why I bought the Honda, but I was impressed by a friends Can-Am... in December at 9,000’ elevation

And to steer things back to my original comments, I suggested that Honda really needed to design better cabin enclosures. Roll down windows, better sealed doors, removable rear panel, etc., and offer said components to those that need them in northern, or my case, high elevation environments. I would happily buy those components from Honda for my cold season, rather than the Ill fitting tentage that most of us have resorted to for want of better options. My neighbors Can-Am pictured below has a real cab with powered windows, heater... sealed doors, roof; refinements that Honda is no stranger to with its auto division that brought us the superior drivetrain on the Pioneer series.

If you got a new machine I'd go talk to the salesperson and ask about a discount on some accessories. You should be able to get aleast 10% off if not more. Also, did you check out some of the cheap cab options on the internet. Hard Cabs look nice and way cheaper. Doesn't have the roll down windows, but huge difference in price. Check out these upper doors only. Honda Pioneer 1000 / 1000-5 Aluminum Upper Doors By Offroad Armor – Offroad Armor | Offroad Accessories
Thank you... will definitely take a look. I’ll likely piece some acceptable enclosure together for the winter, and look for a more ideal solution.

I keep reading comments about the upper doors not fitting well, being less than perfect. I’m mostly curious about opening and closing? On my ranch, I’m in and out a lot.

having a full enclosure is nice for multiple reasons. It's really nice after a big snowfall to not have to shovel out the inside of the sxs as well as the outside. I have the Honda OEM canvas enclosures. I like them a lot.
