I guess I should join this club too. I actually joined about a month ago but I might as well make it official and post it here....

The red one is sitting on 30 inch tires and the stock three seater still has stock tires and stock suspension.

1: 4.5" taken out

2: taken from the bottom of the front and middle posts where the cage meets the adapters. The rear posts were cut in the middle.

3: I used sleeves in all 6 vertical tubes. The sleeves are double the thickness of the stock cage. Also the horizontal bar over the front seating areas must be cut and lengthened, I also sleeved it. All sleeves were maximum length allowed. For example, the sleeves in the rear tubes are 27.5" long. The front and and middle posts are long as we could fit but I don't remember the length. Maybe ~16". The sleeves were welded to the cage adapters and the stock cage was also welded to the cage adapters and sleeves. I then went back later and drilled holes in the outer pipes and plug welded the stock tubing to the inner sleeves.

Start on post 769. There's not of pics and info. Also, I had some help so I can only take a small percentage of the credit for this mod.

How are y'all handling the headrest bars/ B pillars? I have a 1000-5 and want to bring the top down.
Some are redesigning that cross section. I measured the roof well before I cut and decided it was perfect for us left alone.

I'm at work and this is the only pic I have of that part of the cage. I want to take 5" out. Looking at this pic, it looks like there isn't 5" of straight tubing above the headrest attachment unless I replace the seatbelt bolt there. Is there something I'm not seeing?

That's net bolt. Those will all change and nets would have to probably be re-designed, we don't run nets I just can't stand them I'd rather be hit in the face with branches lol.

Ok guys I decided it’s time to chop the top. I have a 1000-5. My welder fabricator was wandering the size of the sleeves. Are 1 5/8 and 1 1/2 the sizes?
Yes. Larger in the front

Ok thanks. Was there enough adjustment in the Honda roof brackets? Or did u have to drill new holes for it?
Back were ok but front and mid have to be redrilled. It was weird that mid holes were off but they were.

Been a long time since I’d done the roof but doing another now so figured I’d bring it up. Center stays the same. It looks like I 180 deg the back clamps and then fronts moved forward. I did lower the front end by flattening out the side two mounts some and added my own spacers in the centers that were about half of what it came with. The reasoning for the center lower was to help keep water from puddling on top. Between that and the 1 in lower cut on front ropes that’s never a problem anymore

Hi guys, I just bought a brand new 2018 p1000-5 and was looking into chopping the top down. Was wondering what the best way to go about this is and how much I should chop. Thanks
