Well completed the chop today! I will be painting tomorrow and put the roof on and finish the windshield mod. I will add some pics tomorrow after I have it back together. I am about 5” in the front and 4-1/2 in the back. Looks pretty good so far. I am excited to get it completed tomorrow.

So now that I have chopped my top I would like to install a different windshield. Obviously stock one will not fit anymore😂! I cut my Honda hard coat down to fit but I never have liked that windshield…still don’t. I would like a full flip up glass that I can add a windshield wiper to. Something like the hard cab one but obviously will have to be shorter. Does anyone know of a place that does custom glass windshields?

Call around local dealers and see who has an empty honda glass frame. Something with shipping damage.

Cut the frame to fit, find a local glass guy to cut a replacement glass and you are golden.

This! It’s common they in with broken glass then cut and glass shop around 100$ and done. That’s what I did

Hey all! I've been on the fence for a chop for a while, but I think I'm going to pull the trigger! Anyone have a instruction guide for a DIYer? Thanks!

2021 1000-5, I'm thinking a 3.5/4/4.5
👍 that'll work, once you have the correct size pipping for sleeves then it's actually pretty easy. Realistically if you have everything ready and a good work area you could probably have it done in one day. I took a weekend just cause my garage is a mess and took a lot of "water" breaks....😂

I read through this entire thread and a few others before my first cut. Lots of ideas and different ways of accomplishing end results. I did 4/4.5/5

I kept the middle headrest bar so to me the easiest way to cut the B-pillar was here 👇

This still allowed me to sleeve the pipe to reinforce it

Hope this helps 👍

Looks great! Thanks for the pictures! I could have sworn I saw a step by step guide somewhere in these forums for the guys like me that need their hand held. I'm going to try and dig that up

🤔......

step 1......grind
Step 2......cut
Step 3......weld
Step 4......grind some more
Step 5.....repeat steps 1 through 4 as needed..... 👍

😂😂😂 you'll be ok if you have some basic shop knowledge (and common sense) 👍
