I am at our family cabin in Northern Ontario (near Algonquin Park) where it is -30F before windchill.
This is a very cold day and not the norm.

I have my P500 on a battery tender in an unheated garage.
Would there be any reason to not just turn the key like normal?
Should I let it warm up plenty to get the oil moving well?

I operate with average riding skills and low mechanical skills so maybe I am over thinking this.

I am curious what outside temps others have operated their P500s in....I am sure -30f is a balmy day vs others.

Cheers!

I just had mine freeze up while sitting outside when it was -20F with the windchills in the -40F range.
Once I got it back inside my unheated garage overnight it was able to start again.. I never hooked up the battery or anything during the night, it was -12F with windchills in the -30F range.
I have a battery tender I'm going to install when I get a chance.
I'm in Central Minnesota for reference.
Definitely let it warm up a bit before running around with it too much.

My crescent wrench was frozen yesterday and it was warm here!... 2 degrees F I had to run my wrench under some warm water to adjust it. I can only imagine how many pieces on the Pioneer are frozen in place.

I saw where parts of MN were at -41, we were at -15. I read that wind chills don't affect mechanical objects, just us.

Starting and stopping without getting to operating temperature and blowing out the muffler will result in rusting out the muffler! Set the machine on rear jacks, if not able to ride! Be sure to have ventilated area and cycle through gears as if riding to burn moister to eliminate rusting! I feel for you guys up there! It's cold here but nothing, what you guy's are experiencing! I'm taking mine out Saturday and temps are supposed to 48 degrees!

Desert lessons you learn quickly:
Usually doesn't matter what the low is, it will usually warm up enough to "do stuff" during the day.
Doesn't matter what the high is, you will probably need warmth after dark.
Nothing my .45 ACP won't solve

We were riding as low as about -15. The 1000 started real well at all temps but the Yamaha Wolverine started hard and the Pioneer 500 did as well until a 60w light was placed underneath
