P1000 Delton's painfully slow build

Had a trailer years ago that ate two brake controllers in a month then started blowing fuses in the truck.

I could travel about 5 miles before blowing light fuses. Had a 200 mile trip one night and went through a metric sh-t ton of fuses.

Traced it all finally to a bad ground on the right trailer taillight (would only blow fuses at night). Ground wire was loose inside the light and would bounce against the hot wire.

I won't publicly state how long it took me to find that S O B!

How old did you say you are?

I'm betting that finding that ground ate up a couple of good years!!!!!!

I am past the 50 yard line. This happened pre 2004 - I know that because I had my current trailer custom built to my specs in '04. 9,990 pound GVWR, tandem axle aluminum trailer built with 6k axles. Sucker weighs 2,075 pounds empty.

Let's say it was more than half a year but less than a year.

Yeah that's it. 900/700 watts. More than enough for my box fan and coffee pot.

What kind of coffee pot? My coffee pot says 1425 watts. I may need a smaller or more efficient pot for camping.

Big shout out to @jak9922 . Just finished installing braided brake lines I got from him. Quality pieces. Easy install.

The covering on all 4 stock brakes lines had knicks and cuts. They take a beating. Not a concern any more.

Little late night wrench turning. Got the Optima hooked up. Will install the isolator first thing this morning.

Finally found out why my milling machine hasn't arrived. eBay gave truck line my old number so it's been sitting at Saia terminal in Chattanooga since the 8th. Going in the morning to pick it up. Excited about making some cage bungs with it.

It didn't have any trouble with this. Now if I just had a lathe lol. I might want to wait a while before wife sees another wooden crate in back of my truck lol.
