My S10 has a 3.73 with a factory locker. Awesome truck in the nasty stuff even in 2wd.

When I was a mechanic at Roush, we use to put mustang cobra 4.6motors in those expositions and supercharge them. In 2wd. That was one bad SOB! That was part of our RS program with ford. The ones I worked on we're jet black. Looked like a sleeper. The project got canned due to the svt Lightning for that body style

I had a buddy that ran a Lightning back in my bike drag racing days. But it was the 1stgen square body style. I'm certainly no Ford guy but was a 351 correct? It was pretty sick. Only mod was he swapped out pulley for little more boost and bigger injectors. In 100% street trim it'd run very low 8s (1/8th mile). It was pretty awesome.

Yes, that was a modified 351. I don't recall the exact specs, but they were sick! Very underestimated. Our SVT team did some really cool stuff with all the government limitations back then.

I never had any experience with blowers. My best friend and I built identical bikes (cbr900rr) he went turbo and I went nitrous. After my bad back forced me to sell out, I switched to a turbo'd dodge neon I built myself. Not bashing but stock 4.6L mustang gt's were my favorites to pick on. From a 65-70mph hit, my lil economy turd would walk away from one. And still averaged around 28mpg. I remember saying I'd never own a 4cyl lol. Now I love them.

Oh yes, a turbo 4cyl would beat a lot of small and big blocks of the era. You take the light weight alone then make it sing and you have some good jump speed! That's why with the RS program, we had escort zx2's and the unibody Cougars with Z-tech 4's with superchargers. Bad to the bone fast. Never made it to production, for cost effectiveness! We made 2 of each. 2 yellow and two black.

I love the sound of a built V8, but there's something about a blow-off valve chattering too lol. I've got one of the 1st models hks ever made. It's loud. I bought used stuff whenever I could and ended up having around 1300 bucks in my kit. Motor is .020 over stock compression, BC valvesprings and every single fastener in motor is arp. I put around 30k miles on it running 15lbs boost. My stepsons ran car into ground but running gear is still intact. I put stock injectors back in it, bypassed the fmu and wired the wastegate open lol. No way I'd let those idiots drive a boosted vehicle lol

Ya you needed more seating Delton! Honestly 2wd is nicer most of the time makes a better tow rig. You did good sure can't beat that for the money!

It's official, she's street legal and tagged. Drove it to Tractor Supply and grabbed some feed then to gas station for some lawn mower gas. People really look at you strangely as you pass lol. Gotta admit that was really fun.View attachment 19902
what all did you have to do to get the tags?

I'm trying to remember what all was on that list. Your county clerk can give you a copy of the affidavit with the requirements (at least in TN anyways). Windshield, driver side and either rearview or passenger side mirror, turn signals, brake light, rear reflectors, and parking brake. That's all that comes to mind. I may remember more in the morning lol.

Guess my memory is better than I thought. Nailed it. Oh and you can't be on roads with posted speed limits greater than 40mph. But you can cross them to continue on your current route.

Added another Honda to the stable. Stepson decided he didn't want to make payments on bike we bought for him so I decided it needed to call my place home. Went last night and repo'd it right out from under him lol. Chilly night for a 60 mile ride but still fun. I had forgotten how fast that little sucker is. Wife is thinking about selling it. Delton is thinking about riding it lol.
