Moved this here it was getting thick over there and was taking up a thread. . @swsebek @Smitty335

The 230 is the most bullet proof bike out there period. My wife's has 12k+ on it with only brakes tires and fork seals. It's very good and many people have learned on it. We bought a second just for friends and family and it gets beat. I love my bike but I'll ride the 230 happily it loves the woods and will always get you home. The 150 is also a really good bike. These are both end of world reliability. My ONLY issue is electric start only that bugs me and I don't mess around anymore we just buy new batteries every spring but at 12$ eBay not a biggie.
15k on my bored over 250x so it's not bad but has had some more work. Valves are titanium as you know but easy to fix by stainless steel. A Rekluse clutch made it awesome to follow kids.

It's been a long time since I was on a dirt bike.. Spent a lot of time and money racing way back in the 80's . Miss it sometimes..then I remember just how much it can hurt you. We didn't have those fancy Rekluse clutches back then and no electric starters.. Damn, now I want one again.China Hat 1987

Four days in the hospital and a month at home took the wind out of my sails.. Went dual-sport for a while then my wife talked me into a Goldwing.

I can see that. May I ask how?

Nice to see another small bore fan @CumminsPusher. I love my 250f and it's what I recommend people get. People think a 450 makes them a baddass but in reality, there are very few people that can ride a 450 to its full potential. My 250 is lighter and more nimble plus has all the power I can use!

Mines bumped up a bit it's actually a really strong 300 to Rekluse helps a lot but I rode a 450 for a short time and was no fun in the woods. I'd rather that 230 then a 450. The arm pump was huge and you were always fighting it. Most of the woods guys that race around here run 250 four strokes

Good times! Yes it's a Yamaha
View attachment 31994

Yamaha is a close second for me. I do love red though. Green is just my favorite color but not bike.
We've owned lots of blue too

Here's my wife she truly kicks ass. Just turned 40 and can outride most guys I know.

Which... How I ended up in the hospital or how did my wife talk me into a Goldwing. They're both good stories. :)

Ah hell we got time here and now I'm interested in both!

Goldwing The hospital trip was a big time get off at high speed that resulted in severe internal injuries.
I took my not yet wife out for a day on a dual sport...she couldn't walk for 3 days. Told me that if I got a bike that she could carry her latte' on she would marry me.

Ok I definitely prefer the latte story! That's pretty funny! I love a good latte myself

We love riding in Idaho... Went to the Pine Mt rally in Mackay last summer and the year before we stayed at the Silver Mt resort in Kellogg.
Someday consider staying at the place I showed above. They have cool campground and if you don't feel like bringing a place to sleep they rent these cabins for 60 per night. Pretty inexpensive and the scenery is to die for.
