Seems every week I run across another UTV burnt to the ground. Though I have seen about 2 dozen of these images I have yet to install or even buy a fire extinguisher of my own. Thus leading me to ask.

Do you have a fire extinguisher?
If so. Let's see some options!

And... Let's see some reasons why those of us who don't... Should!

I do not, but I will after riding this past week. On two different occasions I got sticks/leaves up around the exhaust that almost caught fire, got to them just in time, both times were smoking with some embers. Thanks for the reminder!

Yes I do, because just in case I need it might be the difference in saving a machine or the whole forest, not to mention my hide. I got the Pro Armor that attaches to roll bar in easy reach with two red quick release Velcro straps, stays put no rattle due to cordura sheath. Litterally 2 seconds it off ready to use.

Why you should have one, because another mfg sell more roman candle SXS than everyone else combined and the operators foolishly carry fuel in a plastic can resting on a 300 degree cargo bed, what temp do you think gasoline boils? I do not intend to find out like these folks:

And this concludes todays object lesson on why you should spend $65 on a fire extinguisher before you spend $400 on a cooler.

I carry 2 small ones, will have to see where to mount on the new machine. My RZR I used some 3" plastic drain pipe on each side so 1 could be reached from each side. A strip of foam keeps them from rattleing but can grab and pull out if needed.

Pro Armor here also, all vehicles shops, and house are equipped. Needed more than once for others. Make sure you have the right type not just a extinguisher from Wally world, unless its the right type.

I have a common ABC type extinguisher. Anyone have something different than that?

Don't remember what mine was, I think in the 20-30 dollar range? I got it at Target or wal mart. Just make sure you get an ABC type at minimum. "A" is for putting out organic materials like dry weeds or leaves. "B" is for flammable liquids like oil, gasoline, or even propane. "C" is for electrical fires, so you can see where on a SXS you could potentially have to deal with an A,B, or C type fire. Of course you hope you never have to deal with any!
