Has anybody tried this tire carrier? The add says it fits most Honda Pioneers. Looks like a simple way to add a tire.

I have it on my P5 and it works great. I did have to add some leftover tire rubber for the P5 since the rollcage is a smaller diameter. But very well made, highly recommend.

Great, how long has it been on? Do you do fast trail riding or tootling about the yard and to the deer stand and back?

Do you have any photos of how it's mounted to the cage? It does look good on your machine. I'm curious if it would hold a tire in approximately this location on a 1000-5

Turns out Dragonfire also makes a 1.78" tube clamp model. The only review is a p1k owner. Maybe I should just buy one and try it

Dragonfire Universal Spare Tire Carrier (1.78" Cage Diameter) 04-0046 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079N87KH4/?tag=sxsweb24-20
I just cant imagine the amount of torque that would be on it at 50-60 pounds out that far from a milled aluminum bracket that size, particularly mounted on a vertical post like you’re showing, bouncing down trails. That just seems like a certain break to me, but maybe not! If the bracket with three fasteners is steel, and fine threaded, I’ll feel better about it. If it’s durable, it certainly is inexpensive and simple in design, simple to mount.

Thats a decent price. Cheapest ive found 1.75" clamps is 37 bucks each. I couldnt make that and sell with any kinda profit margin. I say go for it.
Personally i like everything inside the cage but to each his own.

Pretty sure it's all steel.

I can tell you it is steel, very heavy duty. I’ve done about 120 miles on bumpy trails with it, hasn’t budged. Highly recommend.

That’s what I’ve ran into on several things now.. if we could find a reasonable price on a source for the clamps that would make DIY projects a lot more appealing for items like this.

Dont know why theyre so high but youre right. Ive rejected a couple of ideas simply cause of clamp price.
