P500 Dumpbed on 500?

Has anyone retrofitted the 520 Honda dumpbed to the older 500 model?

I added up all the parts and it was North of $3500 and that didn't the frame mods needed to fit the bed framework

I honestly don’t know if all the hype is with the effort. I have a 520 for over a year now and the dump feature only seems to get used during cleaning. I tilt the bed so I can get at the motor to wash it and dirt flows out of the bed easily. I tried dumping wood out of it a couple times, but it was so heavy I just unloaded piece by piece. My 10 cents.

Not really used for dumping as much as for hauling. I wouldn't want my pickup to have a rack instead of the bed

I don't use mine for yard work, have other machines for that. Pretty sure if I had a 520 it would be full of riding gear in the back just like the 500. They look cool but wouldn't be very useful for me.

I’m buying the 520 that I can customize it the way I want and use it for property maintenance around my rental properties. It’s so handy for so many uses. When I had the 500’s it was missing the one thing I needed the most and the 520 gives me that! The garage is slowly piling up with goodies and I don’t even have it yet!

This golf cart bed was made with a dump capability, but just as easy to pull stuff out so no desire to make it dump. Most of what I haul would be too heavy to manually dump. Value is for hauling, not dumping IMO.

I have only used my dump feature 3 times in roughly a year of ownership.

I use the bed a lot, but rarely to dump material out.

This is actually pretty good advice. I've thought about a small utility trailer for all of the grungy work of rocks, sand and mulch. Who cares if it gets all scratched up, it was meant for that.
