How well does it perform Todd? I’ve never been around anybody who has one so I’m looking for first hand experience. By the way gorgeous rifle.
Performs flawlessly. Have the Leupold CDS system so shooting out to 250-300 yards is simple. I have only shot out to 200 yards so far and my 5 shot group was sub MOA.

Damn that’s pretty good. I’m highly considering the ruger American for sure

I’m really and highly considering buying the ruger American ranch in 450 bushmaster and adding a Boyd’s custom gun stock to it. Seems to be an awesome round for whitetail and would be great for my neck of the woods due to the dense ness of the woods. Thinking of building one just like this topped with a nice leupold 3x9x40 scope. View attachment 167861
I don’t know or have much expertise with the American’s.. but it may be worth a try

I’ve been researching them for awhile and seems like it would be a great little rifle to start a build on and they have plenty in stock here in town.

It would defiantly be much better especially owning a p5 having a bdl riding around is a little rough lol. I had a model 70 Winchester carbine years ago that I sold (kicks self in ass) that I should have kept great compact rifle and very easy to handle. Think I will purchase one and give it a go.

.308 would be my choice for a compact rifle caliber.

You can get it in 7.62x39mm also wonder if that’d be better than the 450?

Check this guy out. He’s an Alaskan hunting guide. He does share some great stories and phenomenal video footage of moose, sheep, grizzly etc.. he also shares other people’s encounter stories. Worth a watch.

My cousin has the Ruger American and he likes it.
