I haven’t messed with the preload on my shocks at all.. but I’ve noticed that my machine has a little bit of positive camber in the back (light load).

My rear collars are basically at the top. Fronts are cranked down probably 4-5”..

Where do most of you put them at for normal riding?

2.5” front and 1.25” in rear is where mine sits level and has good ride. Can go more and get more lift but wife doesn’t like jumping up into Pioneer. Run soft on front and medium on rear and increase rear to hard if it’s fully loaded to stop bottoming out

Factory the rear has the camber.

My fronts are @2, rear are @3.5, I HAVE LIGHTER SPRINGS, though. I have been told you want half the shock shaft showing to set ride height.

I have a question I am contemplating going with fox shocks on my pioneer 1000-3. My concern is I use this for hunting as well and have hauled out several elk in the bed, am I going to have an issue going to fox shocks over the factory self leveling? Thanks.

I don’t think so. You may have to put some preload in rear to make up for it but once set won’t mess with again. I have 80qt cooler on my tailgate and ride two adults in rear so pretty good bit of weight when cooler is loaded and I have no issues.

Ok thank you for the input. As far as your previous response above on where your settings are does that mean you from how the shocks come you screw them down and add 2” more of preload before installing them?

No the measurements I stated is from top of shock body where cap screws on to top of adjusting nut. So your measuring the gap

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on Fox shocks. Which ones do I want? I'm not a racer, but like to ride a spirited pace. Most my riding is on very sandy washboard trails. Load is just wife and I, basic stuff in the bed.

Also, where is the best place to order them from?

Thanks

Ebay, particularly when they are running coupon codes. Unfortunately they are not near as frequent as they once were.

I'm not real familiar with how that works, but I'll sure check it out.

Thanks
Sometime back, like last year maybe they would run specials like 10-20% off up to $75 off or so monthly. They advertised this with a coupon code. Now it seems they only do it every once in a while.

They are still a good price without the discounts.
