If people are getting gear reductions to lower gearing ratio, couldn’t people that want a faster top end get a kit made to increase gear ratio? I know it would rob bottom end power but low is extremely low anyway... just a thought.... opinions?

FYI I don’t want it, just thinking bc I have seen a lot of people wanting it...

Slightly bigger tires would be easier and you'd have more ground clearance too. Assuming the engine can pull the taller effective gear ratio of the new tires you'd be able to go faster

If your bigger tires slowed it down it means your engine doesn't have the power to turn them. Bigger tires would be almost the same thing as higher gearing. So if the tires didn't work for you gears will not work. How big are the tires?

Well the added weight from tires is the only difference... the gear increase wouldn’t add weight... I had mudlite xtrs which measured out to 28” and were heavy... could only hit 38 on flat ground. now I have 27” zillas and can hit 42 again. Like I said, I don’t care it was just a thought for people who wanted more top end... maybe even portals with higher gears instead of lower... that wouldn’t be cost effective though...

Most 27's clear. My top speed is 46 mph with 30's but I can't use full lock and I also trimmed the frame ends a bit. You lose a bit on accel but it pulls the 30's ok in 5th gear. I recommend 27's.

I'd be happy with just a taller 5th gear, even if it wouldn't "pull" it maxed out it'd be nice to be able to cruise at 25-30mph without it sounding like it's coming apart. If I can't get this thing to quiet down it'll get traded in the spring, I've made good progress but damn.....sounds like a bucket of bolts above 25mph!
