No spacers. doesn't seem tippy to me. Not saying it not a possibility later if I have a mishap.
Good luck Wallace.....;)

I've been wanting to hit buckhorn. Been reading some on it.

There are some of us that live close. I have been wanting to get up there to check out the new trails that have been opened up.

Don’t listen to this nonsense. You can definitely get lost there... if I didn’t run gps I would have been lost a bunch of times. On the other side though, since I have gps exploring new trails is always fun!

Well if you studied the “stars” more like smitty maybe you could navigate by the sky.

I'm never lost, just find myself in uncharted territory from time to time.

I know you still rode at a suitable pace, and maybe new tires will be all you need to keep up with the 1000’s this ride???? But we’re talking about gunslinger who’s riding stock tires and all and has stated he’ll not be upgrading until he’s worn them out.

Hopefully someone tags along with him...
Well let me ask you this. If I were to upgrade, what would you guys recommend?

You mean upgrades to your P5, or do you mean a machine upgrade? If you just mean tires, there’s so many good choices. But if you go up, you must go out. I’d go out anyway. 1” spacers at least. Bighorns are a popular tire.

You can always keep your stockers and still get your use out of them in the future.

There are two towers that have light beacons and are almost on HWY 23, if you get lost at night, go to the top of a mountain , look for them and become the moth, you will end up on HWY 23.

I for one would buy a Arkansas off road permit ,,, if there is a link or a place to buy one before I get to mulberry,,, I’ll support it!

I buy the Texas off Road permit every year (yes it is a requirement in Texas)

Actually, it's a P7. I get that there are lots of tire choices, but I guess I'm asking more about size than brand/model. Won't be getting a different machine. I like mine and it only has 86 miles on it. I've had it since April and just had my first service last Saturday.

Oh hell, all this time I thought you had a P5. Never mind everything I’ve said about it, you’ll be just fine..

What Smitty said. Eight ply’s for sure if you get new tires. You could realistically blow a stock tire at Mulberry. The side walls were very thin on the stock tires on my P7 and I had two side wall punctures. Taller tires will give you more cushion because of increased sidewall.

I would say to wait till after this ride. You will know a lot more about what you need and when. There will be plenty of help if you get in a bind.
