Heat

Gosh I hate to post another heat related thread but I saw this on FB and you know everything on the internet is true lol!
UPDATE - This has been 100% VERIFIED!

Well just saw that Honda came out with a heat fix - have to contact your dealer to schedule time to get installed - seems notice went down today

They are adding more rubber heat shields that runs all the way up the front seat back. I'm not for sure what else I'll have to read it further in detail tomorrow.

Ya,
I wouldn't hold my breath in hopes of it solving much of the heat. Its a band aid fix!

You would be better off installing the thermal shield and if heat is still unbearable, recommend the bilge fans for full heat control.

Is this something we have to pay for like the water ingestion fix?
NO, but you will need to have a complaint in to Honda to "qualify" at this current time! Talk with your dealer, they may be able to help with this.

I would also be interested to know if it is a tsb or full on recall.
It is only a "product update" campaign. There is no recall associated with this.

Couple more screen shots I have picked off FB - I am only posting what I am reading - I still think I am better off with the great Ideas that have been shared on this site. However I do like the idea of a new seatbelt buckle shield/wrap they show

People are arguing on Facebook this will COMPLETELY fix the problem as the heat shields do now. These people must be riding in Greenland? My heat shield was probably a 10% improvement. No where near a "fix". Bilge fan and heat shield and be done with it

My LE has similar parts. The seat belt rubber is slightly different.View attachment 52502
@Tramguage1 if you will put some tape over the rubber you will stop any heat getting through the slits. Mine is like your as well and after I put the heat shield on that was really the only place I could feel any.

Just spoke to my dealer he confirmed and showed me the paperwork there is a fix for 16&17 models but from what I read the customer has to go in and request it. And also it said that any new or prospective customers that have to be told about the change.

Mine is first in line, as soon as he gets the parts and calls me I will document what they do. He also wants to try to get this done before I ride at Rush Springs so we can demonstrate to other members

Which problem is it you're referring to, heat through the dash, the seat or just generally, and what are they going to do to your rig exactly?

Seat heat.
He does not have the parts yet. he wants to do some temp readings with mine before and after the new parts are installed. then he will add some more DynaMat in a few places and then do more readings. I'm guessing I'm going to be the test dummy!

That's cool. And this is on Honda, I just need to go ask my dealer to do it??
