1st post and I finally did it! Joined Hondasxs!!!
Oh yeah, also purchased a 2017 Pioneer 1K5 LE a few months ago. This forum has been extremely helpful as I was a lurker and now member. Thanks to all who helped and didn't even know it. So here we go....
I have wanted a Pioneer since their debut. I considered getting a 700-4 but put it off. Once the 1000-5 came out I knew that was the machine for me. Still I waited.... Last year we picked up a new camper, 2018 XLR 35VL5 toyhauler. I have a custom golf cart that I haul along with a crf250l and crf50 in the 12 ft. garage. I still wanted the Pioneer but didn't know when it would happen.
Earlier this year while browsing online I ran across a '17 1K5 LE advertised as new for $15k. I had looked at one locally and the best price I could find was over $18k. I had to call and figure out the deal!
I spoke to Nate at Zeigler Motorsports in Michigan (more on them later) by phone. He quickly figured out it was a "Honda Press Demo" with 78 miles. It was being sold as new. The dealership received a few press demos of different models recently. Nate meticulously took photos, text me every scratch (there were 2) and made sure I was kept updated while 12 hrs away. He made sure I was completely comfortable with the deal.
Finally after knowing the price wasn't coming down for '19, '20 and so on I made them an offer. In my mind there was no way this deal would work but I would throw it out there. Well.... it worked! I ended up with the 1K5 LE, 2-piece windshield, roof, 4 yr extended warranty and 100 hr oil change OUT THE DOOR for MUCH LESS than the lowest NC dealer quote on a new machine (no accessories) before tax, etc. To say I'm happy is an understatement!!!
As for Nate and Zeigler I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!! They went above and beyond and you should call them! Did I mention my machine was delivered to my door at midnight! That was part of the deal as well! We now have years of camping and trail riding trips to look forward to! We plan on WV, Royal Blue and many more. I can't wait!!!

My off-road experience level is: Trail Rider
My favorite place to ride is: Farm and Local Trails for now
