Is it safe to use any jump starter. Harbor freight has a lead acid jump starter or a smaller lithium ion. Pros and cons of each?

Lead heavier, Ion lighter, I would think voltage and amps would come into play

When say say 'be safe " what are you referring too. You still have to use proper boosting precautions even if polarity protectors are built into the boost pack.

Basically by safe is being harmful to the machine. What I'm asking is what should I look for in a battery jumper.

Go with the lighter unit, any of those jump starters is going to start a P500. The only consideration is, do you want it to back up your car too? Then peak amps is going to be a consideration.

Mine has a lot of features I liked also, I looked at a lot of them. Wish the case was a different color but it won't be seen much hopefully. It got mostly good reviews.

Weighs 1 pound. Have boosted my pickup with it no problem. USB charging . Has a USB out put also.
