So I have made many dohickeys and doodads that have been mounted in the spot or storage area under the seat. The problem is having to take off the entire seat to access this. I decided to order a marine boat hatch and with some trimming and rivets Wallaaaah! Easy access although yes you will need a waterproof dry sack or box. With a tiny bit of dremel work a ammo can will slide in and out as well.

I was literally just out in the shop holding an ammo can thinking "Where can I hide this thing on the pioneer."

Great idea, I like the look of the door also fits the character of the machine.

I like it for the same reasons as you. I think I'm going to have to order this!

Awesome job! Great ingenuity in utilizing that space. Did you have to use any gasket material between the access door and the seat?

I debated making attempting to make it water proof but I think you would end up just making some of it waterproof and then water would just stagnate. With out significant work making that are water proof would be difficult. Best option is probably to use dry bags or ammo box I think.

Possible but I think it would limit storage and any heavy items inside the sack would probably end up wearing a hole in the material

I actually moved my computer to make room, and keep a small cooler under there for beverages that aren't allowed in some trails lol
