Mena WPG October 13-16

Taking a full week to ride the Mena trails and some relaxation. If anyone else is going let’s meet at the trail head. It my first time to visit WPG, coming out of East Texas with the family. Looks like plenty of other things to keep us entertained. We are going to hit a crystal mine, if y’all have any other suggestions fire away.

This map is a must. Most places you stay will have it. Trail 8, 6 And 3 or the best trail in the park. You want to got Little Missouri falls. Eagle Mt.

Since you're going to be up there all week you want to go over and ride at fourche mountain. You take you a couple hours to ride over there so plan on bringing some gas and being all day trip

No I use Magellan TRX7 and that onXmap offroad app one my phone. As long as you can download the maps. And use the GPS on your phone. Most of times you're not going to have a phone signal. Onxmaps allows you to download all the areas that you're going to be riding on your phone and then you just go to the app and go offline and use the GPS off your phone.

We rode from the west and east trail heads at WPG. We also parked at Harris Creek Trailhead and rode to Cossatot Falls and the sand bar. Good break in trail rides to enjoy this State Park on the SxS. We spent the last day at Fourche Mnt. Quite a few people out’ having fun. I was amazed at the WPG “trails”. They are roads built for ATVs, not trails. Lots of culverts and blade work.

Is Cossatot out of the west trailhead? I don’t believe I’ve ever been to those falls. Did you take in the little Missouri falls to the east?

I never made it to Little Missouri falls, guess I have a good reason to go back. Cossatot was about 45 minutes south of the east trail head. A lot of miles was forest service roads. I pulled my trailer on them but it was Wednesday with 0 traffic. Never meet an oncoming vehicle.
