I’ve been running packout for two years and I wouldn’t have anything else. It’s too easy to switch up and change compared to other setups. I run the standard plates in my Pioneer, zero issues so far.

Remmy's beer stays cold too!!! And if you have a 1000-3, you don't have to worry about the back seats........
Hahaha yes it does!
Great meeting you and riding with you at the TO.

Here’s the setup I have in my Pioneer, it works great. I also have mine mounted so I can raise the seats and leave the plates in.

@Neohio the bags on my P500 allow access from the sides for the front bag and from the back for the rear bag.
(full disclosure: I stole this photo from another thread, it had the correct angle to see the bags 😁)

You could consider something like this for the pack out.
If the p1k bed is not long enough there are 1/2 width packout boxes that could go sideways in the front.
I was going to say I don't know how big the bed is but that's a lie, didn't bother to check.

@Russ989 do the boxes with multiple drawers seal?

(yep, stole that one too)

You seam to have crossover experience with packout boxes and SxS.
Maybe you could comment on what boxes, if any to avoid based on sealing, strength or whatever.

The drawer systems do not seal unfortunately, I’ll look at the product numbers on my boxes when I get home.

I might skip the milwaukee factory bases and create a plate as large at the bed floor. Make it 3 pieces so each seat is still usable. I have a laser guy at work that is dirt cheap. I prefer access from the tailgate vs the side. I don't know. I will mock up a few models and see what I think looks best.
@lee I will see if I can find a 500 local to me and get some dimensions to attach one to the 500 rack.

Ordered my mount from Etsy mounted to inside of seat frame using smooth headed bolts. Mount stays in place without boxes when seats are up but have bed extender to hold boxes when seats are up. Boxes are always water tight even with pressure washer clean up. Also installed brackets and piece of aluminum bar to install rotopax 4.5 gallon jug with deluxe mounts

I have helped 2 Talan owners install on their machines as well. Take a standard PO plate and cut back 2 corners to make it fit inside the bed. Then install your choice of boxes. It was the VERY FIRST thing I did on mine. My boxes are dirty as they used to be on the Polaris. Sold that machine with the plate installed and new owner was going out to buy PO boxes for himself, that same day.

Maybe a plate that spans all the way across the front of my trailer. Then have the Hondasxs.com cutout in the center.

Well, little project completed this morning.
2 Milwaukee 1.5 plates mounted side by side on some random pieces of plywood I found in my garage. Truck is a 15+ F-150.

So far only have a tire kit and first aid kit figured out. Thanks @Tramguage1 for the tire kit inspiration! Now to transfer all the tools/parts from a Pelican 1550 and soft tool bag.

May not get the plates mounted in my Pioneer today. But the truck half was important to get done first for me. My machine is an hour away at camp for 6mths the year. So i don't typically leave tools in the back when I am not around. At least I don't have to worry about stuff sliding in the back of my truck. I hate hearing stuff slide around.
