I got the PRP 5 point harnesses installed in all seats except for the driver seat. That will happen once I get the seat riser rail and harness anchor installed.

The worst part of doing this was removing the freaking factory bolts 🙄 They torqued the shít out of them and then used loctite. The impact did nothing because of the angle. After fighting like hell with the first seat, we decided to go buy a breaker bar, made life so much easier.

I guess the struggle to being new to all of this is not having all of the tools readily available.

Harnesses are money well spent, so much more comfortable.

Got the seat riser rails for the driver seat installed. While I was there I also installed the 5pt harness anchor. Both were super easy to install.

MrMiniRF and I spent today working on LRR. The goal was to install the frame stiffener, skid plates, A-arm guards and trailing arm guards.

We started with the SuperATV frame stiffener as the skid plate will go over it. It was suggested to remove the wheels to install the frame stiffener so we did. It was a pretty easy install.

While the wheels were off we went ahead and installed the A-arm guards. Again, fairly easy install and smooth sailing, making great time on installs.

The next step was going to be the skid plate, so factory skids removed.

We decided while we were already under the Talon we would take off the side plastic pieces and pre-cut the holes needed to install the tree kickers in the near future....this is when the day went to shít. 😂

The allen head bolts they used were a huge PIA to remove. Actually, several of them were extremely cross threaded during install...so that, mixed with red Loktite, meant these things weren't budging. Ended up having to cut one, then the rest of it fell out. Decided it was a good time to take a break, go to Home Depo for new bolts and a screw extract kit. Come back, drill out holes, use the screw extract. It reluctantly worked for one. Go to do the last one and the freaking screw extractor tip breaks IN the cross threaded bolt 🤦‍♀️🤬 I don't know what the screw extractor was made of but nothing was drilling through it. Fine, we'll cut this one off like the last one....didn't work as easy, the rest of the bolt didn't fall out like the other one. That one decided it wanted to be a tw*t so we broke the plastic to get the piece off and cut the notches needed. Upgraded hardware used to put them back on....🖕 allen head bolts.

Decided this is where we stop for the day, cleaned up and got dinner. The skids and trailing arm guards to follow later.

Took advantage of the rain for an easy "install."

We needed a tablet dedicated to the Talon so we used some rewards points and got this for $8.12 out of pocket. Now to order the Lifetime Trail Maps software and a waterproof case.

It was actually much cheaper and you get a better grade tablet by buying the tablet outright and then purchasing the maps.

Decided to quit being a wuss and put the skid plates on in the confinement of a small cluttered garage instead of waiting for the rain to stop.

I read a lot of people saying the self tappers were a PIA and liked to "walk" so we had a setup of 2 impact drills, 1 with a 1/8" drill bit and 1 with the socket needed. Using the drill bit worked wonders as it gave the screw a place to sit and kept it from "walking." We did have 2 self tappers that decided they didn't want to be a part of the SXS life and the tips burned out so I will have to get 2 replcement screws but other than that, skids are done.

A couple of the holes didn't line up 100% but I made sure the bolts connecting two plates together lined up perfect. Have 3 bolts where the bowl washers just don't sit perfectly in the recess but it's still a tight fit.

My other tablet spends most of its time updating. It’s 4-5 yrs old now. I just wanted this way because I called and talked to them this way if tablet gets stolen, destroyed or something I don’t have to pay for replacement maps. If I download them and something happens I gotta buy all over again. Plus it comes with a case and everything. I really like my new mount. It’s much better and looks factory. Money well spent.

I had one like that. I cut then ground down the bowl washer on one side just enough so that it would sit down completely inside the recess, even though it was offset to one side. I thought that would be better, as there was no longer a risk of that bowl washer catching on something (rock, tree, whatever) and ripping out. Just a suggestion.

Got the trailing arm guards installed this evening after work. Pretty quick and simple install - clamped them on, pre-drilled a "seat" for the self tappers and them sent 'em home.

I didn't cut the washer itself since it was barely lipped over the edge but we did use the dremel to just widen that recess so now it sits in there properly.
