yep me too except for rap and the dead.I have very eclectic tastes in music. I’m all over the board.
Loved jefferson Airplane, Starship They have had some great musicians over the years. Forgot that MArty lived in the Tampa Bay area for a while before he died in 2018I used to be very good friends with Marty Balin. We went to the Salvador Dali museum together on Mushrooms…
I wore that LP out
IMO, a very underrated guitarist. Long live the Flying V..
My brother and sister were 14 and 16 years my elder and always had music on in the house. The Stones, Beatles and a few years later Zeppelin and Sabbath. My mother always encouraged it, which was very patient of her.Damn, I really enjoy this thread. Seeing some of you posting music and sharing memories, fricking Awesome!! Is it funny how music inspires, makes us get lost, help us get through tough times or just getting you pumped before you go out with friends and loved ones.
I have been very lucky being raised in a musical family. Music has always been a very important part of my family and my life. Had family members hang and jam with bands that started the California/Surf sound. Parents worked in the industry, so also had several opportunities to see recording sessions in the Bay area and SFV when I was little(wish I had appreciated the moments a little more back then).
My music taste and appreciation goes deep, it changes all the time depending on mood or my frame of mind. The 80’s(probably my best time) were a great time in LA for music, you could catch live music anytime on Sunset Blvd or someone’s garage. Damn, those were good times. Definitely before politics or the Kardashians ruined Cali.
I hope to keep sharing my love for music, maybe a sharing a story or two with you guys. Thanks to SWB for starting this thread.
