I have really been using my plow lately. But I want to change the angle from inside the cab..800 bucks for hydro turn,:eek:and it looks cheap and weak....so I have this Idea that I had made years ago......I gathered all the stuff and now this weekend I will start the build........
I collected alot for different types of cables, from mowers, bikes tractors, and old R model Macks.
and what I came up with was theses cables that run the lift to rolloff trucks. These cable allow you to run the hydralics from inside the cab and they cant be ripped in half by hand. They are very strong and smooth and easy sliding.they have a large diameter and theaded on both ends with a larger threaded area above the other.....pics are coming!!!

And it will connect to lever on plow that you push to change angle. But in stead of pushing I am mounting it so it pulls up and the yellow X is where I will drill hole to mount.

I will cut this angle and bolt under here. And drill a hole to put cable through and tighten to it.
The cable will go through grill and passed Radiator and look like this

This will be under dash to just pull and it does pretty easy. When it's pulled you can let the plow touch off the left or right of area you are plowing and the snow moves it or rocks like I plow:Dthen just let go and spring on plow clicks in slot and you don't have to get out....:)

Above where it lifts the lever I will make a bracket that I will weld to plow that will hold it like the orange thing is showing. This weekend I will make the brackets and hopefully be able to paint and try out.....

I also thought if someone wanted to go a different route or you have a different machine you could use a bike cable and hand lever like a clutch and mount a pipe so you could squeeze it like a clutch on bike to pull up lever on plow.and there is push mower cables too.But these that I used seem to be the way I'm going

The cable looks ok and flexes really tight and still no binding. It goes behind shock and through plastic above brake pedal and under steering wheel.........Yes I'm sure someone could start patenting these and make a killing on different machines and anything with a plow. But I'm not that guy.....Hope Just one person gets the Bug to do there own and I was the inspiration for it.

Looks like you used a standard PTO cable.
Great Idea. I will have to look at my plow and see if I can fab something similar.

Well I had some time to make the bracket to hold the cable and bracket to lift the lever. Just got it tacked but it pulls very easy... tomorrow I will start to make the bracket under the fender.

Looking good. Love watching a pile of saved items become something.
I know I'm guilty of saving plenty of things that most people might pitch lol

Well I changed the bracket and Location for the pull handle.... didn't want to drill frame or weld to it. So I made this easy aluminum piece and siliconed the back and bolted it to here.Loc tired them little bolts. Then drill the hole 3/4" to allow cable to go through..
IMG 3386
ThenI used washers and a piece of rubber gas line to keep it snug

I measure the pull weight and it's 3 lbs.
Very pleased how it looks and works...
