Awhile back when strapping my pioneer down I noticed a small amount of oil on the driver side frame rail towards the rear of the engine. I hadn’t noticed any oil where I park it so I wasn’t overly worried - I assumed it was some overflow from when they checked/topped off fluids at the dealer when I took delivery.

Fast forward to today, a few weeks later and maybe 50 mi or so, I’m putting on skid plates and noticed it again. I thought WTF is leaking oil? I took apart some plastic and found a bolt and washer sitting in some pooled oil right next to the oil dip stick. I pulled back a plastic panel and found some threads and place for a bolt - see pics. It has pink paint on both the part and bolt.

My question is - what part of the engine is this? Is it a problem that bolt was gone and some oil leaked out? I checked oil level and everything is fine.

I’m going on a trip this weekend but don’t want to head out of this is an issue. Thanks in advance

Unless you have been in deep water or something I would not worry if you only lost a little bit of oil.
It is just a "plug". It would be remove to loosen the tensioner when installing the cam chain.
Its has no other use then that, a plug.
Tighten it up and ride on.

Yep, I think you are right.
Here it is - 90442-397-000 WASHER, SEALING (6MM)
Thank you all!

It had a flat regular washer. I put it on and tightened down.

No deep water, just up to the floorboard, so should be in good shape I think. Oil still had honey color - only 90 mi on machine anyhow. I’d say it was no more than 1-2 oz of oil lost. Still confused how it got that way, and never bounced out or anything??

THANKS EVERYONE

Sorry... meant to mention that it was just a plug in my 1st post but was in a bit of a hurry. As long as the threads are ok, should be fine.

Odd that it came out.
