My first dodge was actually an 88. It was a tough truck no doubt, but wasn’t “nice”. I rebuilt this one all myself down to the paint when I was in high school... no Cummins in that though..

Holy crap!! How’d ya miss the box?

Hit a camaro pretty much head on at 65mph. Flew through the air and landed on top of a Z71 and flipped end over end... the lady in the camaro was turning across the highway and said she didn’t see me. The s***ty part is the picture up top was 5 days before the wreck. I had been working on it non stop for 2 months. I had literally just pulled it out of that little wood shop where it was completely body worked, painted, new wheels and tires, new interior... the works. Totaled less than a week later. And high school kids only have liability... and I got pinned with fault on the wreck at the scene because the cop there hated my dad. I showed up to court and the judge immediately dismissed it and said the whole report made no sense. They then told me since the officer on scene only charged me and not the other lady it was a “Fix your own vehicle” situation...

That’s brutal! We got something similar in common. I had a 78 Ramcharger that I put 84 quarters doorsand front end on. Looked like your black beauty. I went well beyond what I’ve done to all but one car for body/paint. Was Candy Brandy Wine with custom white leather. 1 ton, lockers,440 4 speed Beautiful rig the works. Spent every available hour and dollar from rebuilds over a 2 year time.
Just got it back from stereo shop for at the time a massive system. Had twin alarms. It had been finished for a week prior to going in and got it back in a Tuesday. Drove two days to work. That Friday my buddy and I were going to go out cruising and had just gotten ready to go out to take off the canopy and discovered it gone. No alarm nothing. Gone.
Called cops and the whole deal. Got a call month or so later said it might be at an area called the Pit. Was an off road spot back in day. Showed up and the officer came running over and said “this may be your truck but be damn sure it is because you’re responsible for evacuation if it is” we walked down the hill and it was laying most of the way over on the back of its roof against against some rocks. Suspension, engine, wheels and everything important gone, even some metal cut out. I actually cried in front of that cop. He patted me on the back and said “I’m sorry that wasn’t your rig but whoever put the time in did a nice job” and walked up the hill. I hadn’t put insurance on it yet.
I’ve only built up a couple special cars since then for keep and still don’t run fancy wheels or stereo in a vehicle because of that. You build it to nice and some asshole takes it from you.

94’ built myself as well. Was my first truck I bought brand new. First A plan I used lol.

That’s a 94. Last truck I built myself. Started paying people after that. Built that my first year out of high school. It had EB front and rear axles, locker in front and spool in rear. With the factory 4.0 it would light up 40’s through first and bark second and chirp third. That truck was amazing. If I could have one back I got rid of, that’s the one.
