Looking at putting up a shop to store my stuff in, and hopefully I’ll get a boat in the next 2 years and add it to the toys. I am looking at 40x60x12 with a 5” concrete floor. One large garage door 16x10 and a smaller 10x10 door. 5 windows and 1 walkthrough door. Bids so far are $45k-$47k. The Morton guy is coming Friday and I dread to see what he bids it. Anybody put one up recently? Honestly I figured $38-40k but apparently I was wrong.

I'm looking to do something similar soon. I have a raw piece of land and I'm waiting on the driveway guy to start. I hope to have it finished up by spring. I've not priced anything yet, so I'll be watching your post Lol.

I put up a 28 x 55 stick built garage with heated and cooled space for other hobbies (things that go boom) for $69k finished (dry walled, wired, tile flooring in heated and cooled spaces, hvac, and tied into the main house per code). Morton was more $$$ and wouldn’t precisely match the house)

I built mine 2 years ago. 32x40 12ft ceilings. 2 12x10 rollups one walk through and 4 windows. 14x40 side shed. 6" thick floor with 12" deep footers. Its a stick frame. Batt insulated with 7/16 osb walls and ceiling. Figure i have around 25k. Thats a rough estimate.

I have a 45x50 with 2 12ft doors and one regular door with concrete floor and insulation if I remember right it was about 25k. It's a metal building with metal trusses, plugs and lights on a 200amp panel. Get a quote from the Mennonites if there are any around you. That's who did mine they do great work.

X2 on Mennonites. My father lives West of Nashville and has had some local folks do some really nice work at his place.

Cool I'm not far from there at all. @LandPioneer there are several mennonite communities in Hickman county that can build you a shop. PM me and I can send you some of their numbers if you want them.

Depending on contractor and cost of concrete(it just went UP) I just had that same basic design quoted and I got @$45k and that was with a pre-graded and leveled site. All he had to do was throw up forms and pour a slab.

I built a 40x60x17 all steel bldg. Doors 14x14, (3) 10x10, & (2) 4x7 walk through. R19 insulation and electric openers on 2 of the 10x10 doors. Floor was 6" 4500 psi fiber reinforced concrete.

Steel building as above was $23K, +$17K for crew to put it up. Concrete floor and foundation was separate cost abou $18k including labor. So all in right at $60k but it turned out super nice. Wind load was 130 mph with 30# snow load, those are higher than the standard spec.

I store my 45' Toyhauler, F450 pickup, Jeep Rubicon , 3 SXS, and still have a 25x25' work area.

Don't mind the mess, taken during middle of moving in, new house w building last February.

I bet they charged you double just to get the concrete to the top of that Mt

The shop was here when I bought my house... it’s 40x60 with 16ft eves.. (I really like the extra height and would suggest it.)
Mine is a liberty all steel insulated building... a door on each end. 10x14 and a 20x14 (he had a plane) with two service doors on the east side. Now it has a full bath and separate septic along with 200amp service.. also a buck stove and full wrap around drive. He did it all right. 75-80k is what the receipts show for everything.

Pics are before I filled it up. Lol..

I wish mine had the side doors like Jackals.. I find you can’t really pack stuff in one end and still have open usable “play area” with just the doors on the ends. The 10’ side doors are a good idea.

Yes it let's me put Toyhauler lengthwise along back part of building, then still have a 3 car garage with 20' wide by 30' long bays. Got to that F450 is a long b**** at 23.5 ft LOL
