Cool I'm not far from there at all. @LandPioneer there are several mennonite communities in Hickman county that can build you a shop. PM me and I can send you some of their numbers if you want them.
Will do thanks!

Looking at putting up a shop to store my stuff in, and hopefully I’ll get a boat in the next 2 years and add it to the toys. I am looking at 40x60x12 with a 5” concrete floor. One large garage door 16x10 and a smaller 10x10 door. 5 windows and 1 walkthrough door. Bids so far are $45k-$47k. The Morton guy is coming Friday and I dread to see what he bids it. Anybody put one up recently? Honestly I figured $38-40k but apparently I was wrong.
For a pole barn type building your about right on price, the longer you string them along the better the price gets. Don't fall for the steel price increase baloney either, just a marketing ploy to make you commit with a check.

The higher bid so far was the mennonites fwiw. Maybe they have enough work. They do have a new Mennonite outfit that just sprung up this year and have low prices but I really don’t want to use a first year contractor.

I wouldn't worry if it's their first year, more than likely they have been building shops for a long time. Every now and then they will split up and form new groups due to disagreements in the congregation. Just make sure they are really Mennonites, you will be able to tell by the clothes and haircut. Sometimes you will come across a idiot contractor that will use a common Mennonite last name to get work because of the work ethic that have been instilled in the Mennonite community.

Damn you guys have some awesome shops! I have a 25x60 that I have spent the last 15 years building. I will admit I built as I had the cash, so no payments. It' not nearly as nice as these but it' all mine.
So maybe I will build one of these when I move to Tennessee o_O

Please, Please, Please throw in a couple hundred dollars for 12' wide doors. You will be soooooooo. glad you did.
Getting stuff in and out is always an ordeal. Don't make it a test of your trailering skills when a little money can make it easier.

My next advice is, make it taller. You can add a loft later.

I paid $28K for 30x50x14 with a 12 foot lean-to down one side. Three 12x12 roll-up doors, two mandoors, three windows.
Pad and concrete included. I did all the electrical myself. No plumbing.

I can get 6” concrete poured & finished for about $6000, i already have a flat spot and we don’t have to worry about frost heave down here.

I’m sure if you strung them along for a month or so you could get that price down a bit.

Too bad they aren’t also down here that’s a steal compared to the prices I’ve gotten.

Cecil Pigg Steel Truss | Addison, AL | Steel Trusses if anyone in their coverage area is looking for a building I was just given their info earlier.

40x60x12 (3)10x10 doors, (2) 3068 Walkthrough doors, insulated ceiling under $23k.

I plan on doing the HVAC, wiring, and plumbing myself once thats done Ill have it sprayed with insulation and put up plywood interior walls.

I was quoted by a concrete contractor, a 4"slab with 8" footings for a 2 post lift at <$4500 finished and a solid 6" slab at @$6000

I don’t need a lift. I despise working on cars, only do it if absolutely necessary
