Does the wrench only appear on the display in 1st and 2nd initial oil change intervals or will it pop up every 600 miles or so, or do I need to keep track of the miles everytime I need an oil change.... is it every 400 miles or 600?

Don't know the official recommendation but I change it once a year, every spring with Royal Purple.

How about the oil filter, how often do you change it?

Trigger...does this mean you changed the filter once a year?

Correct. I'm running Royal Purple full synthetic and I'm probably way under the miles that it's rated for. There was actually talk on here back in the day of guys that were changing their oil and not changing the filter because it was such a pita to change out. I would never do it. o_O

New air filters also pretty inexpensive. Appreciate the P500 after doing tractor maintenance with 4 fluid filters, one air filter and 5 gallons of fluid, $200.

Now that I've done it a couple times, changing the oil and filter is no big deal. It gets easier each time, but never faster. :)

Oiling the air filter was a major mess the first time, but I now use an empty one of these.

Lay it on it's side, pour the oil in, and roll the filter around in it, pressing down from the inside. Saturates it nice and evenly, squeeze out the excess and pour it back in the bottle. I'm using the Honda oil so, rinse the container and pour it out. Use the same jug when you clean the filter too.

Steve00 the wrench will come on at 100 hours or 600 miles which ever comes first. The hour time starts when you turn the ignition switch on and off when you turn it off. If you forget to turn it off as I did, two times, the wrench will come on not to mention the battery going dead. Why Honda did this I have no idea. You would think the hour time would be engine run time not switch on time.
