OIL Question

I need to add some oil to my Pioneer, I know the manual says to use 10w-30, but I have some 10w-40 leftover from when I had a 400ex. If I just wanted to add a little, would it be fine to use the 10w-40 or should I just go get 10w-30? Thanks

I would not be worried about it as long as both oils are from the same manufacture.

Make sure it's motorcycle oil, no additives like slick 50.

Motorcycle oil is best because of the wet clutch but doesn't have to be just make sure it not energy conservation because there are lubrication in there that will cause havoc on your clutch and DEFINITELY NO ADDERS like ohanacreek said I run Mobil 1 full syn 10w30 in everything even my crf250l and couldn't tell a difference from when I ran amsul or royal purple motorcycle

thanks everyone! I called the dealership I got mine from and they said its fine. I had some GN4 10w40 leftover from when I had a quad, so I think Its fine to use if I'm just topping it off. Regardless though, I like to be extra safe when it comes to these things, I'll be picking up some GN4 10w30 today or tomorrow.
