Wow, that's entirely at/behind the rear axle. Looks light on the front of the truck. The engine/trans is rear of center on the P5, that's why I back mine in.
I just worry about the wind forces hauling it backwards.
Pushing on the windshield the wrong way.
Do you haul it on the freeway that way or...?

It has Velcro brackets, 4 minutes to remove. Just like people with rear panels that transport their P5's forward? I probably transport mine more and farther than any other member. No problems. The other benefit of backing it in is that you can snug it up tight against the bed rail because the tires is what makes contact first.

I had the 1000 in the bed of my pickup usually heavily loaded with wood for the trip back home and the only thing that was bad was the weight from loading it. As long as it's not bouncing around your not talking a lot of weight. As long as it fits enough to get the ramps out from the tires I'd suggest this. Awesome easy way to tie the rig down as well. It held the 700 and 1000 in tight no straps needed We also towed our trailer at about 3k behind it.

Ya it comes both ways. I tried the trailer mount but it was hard to line up. This one isn't. It's very trustworthy and super easy about 30sec to tie down and no more straps

I can see that. I wouldn't try to haul much of a trailer with that set up, but I do think it's good security for the P5.

A large tent trailer for sure. If you didn't need the upper bar back to far you could have a receiver welded to the lower and carry much more weight. The steel on these is like 3/16. It's very strong! I didn't need it anymore so I used it for my third row seating in the Pioneer now but I absolutely loved it when I had a load in the bed. The only trick really if going off road with it is to have someone compress the suspension a tad.

I haven't even tried putting it in there yet since the bed seems so short... I'm hoping someone here has had success with the plywood trick and will chime in. I have seen the tailgate supports and that will probably be something I need to get, even if I use the plywood.
Well, have you tried to load the P-5 in the bed of that shinny new dude yet??

No not yet... been a busy week. I am hoping to go on a ride soon, and will need to haul the machine then. Whenever I try to get that thing in the bed, I will definitely be taking pics and letting you know.

Coming out is no big deal but going in you'll want to strap the ramps to the bumper. We have 10ft "Harley" ramps that fold and worked excellent but overkill is important in ramps. We broke one loading one time and it could've gone bad. I jumped on the throttle of the 1000 and came in very hot did some damage to the pioneer and the truck.
