I think a route with some options and built in play time would be the best

The route that was already established calls for 10-11 hours a day drive time, depending on the nature of the roads and condition any given day, we might make 300 miles, we might make 100 miles. But to do the route in the allotted time, we must average 200 miles a day, every day. I've never driven a sxs 10 hours a day, day after day before, but I may not need any play time at the end of the day, just rest. Those youngsters can leave their trailers/gear in camp and hit the trail for play time.

The West side of Yellow Stone Park literally stinks (smells bad). My oldest son called it Earth puke area.

If we enter via Cody, the east entrance, we will be in the park the least amount of time, exiting the north entrance into Montana, that will be some of the highest elevations in the park. We still need to confirm that the staff at the entrance gate will allow passage of sxs, even though they are Street legal and insured.

What do you think about them?

I'm in New Mexico with my 1000, and my tires arrived at my Oklahoma office last week. On Plumbers recommendation, I went with Tensor Regulator DOT radials. He's used them on and off road and is very happy with them. I'll get mine installed in a couple weeks.

I've got 1/16 toe in and with the stock tire it was very squirrely, with the EFX radials drives great

Sounds great, I bet you reassure them you will stay on the roads, they will be fine.

When we were out I took a great camera and tri pod, came back with some great pictures

Hey @moparornocar, I will draw your attention to post 6 of this thread. A mapped out route, on paper was always your intention. I don't recall anybody hollering other than asking for that mapped out route six months after the initial announcement.

The majority of the seat of the pants navigation will be MN. The whole thing is just getting a bit "too" organized for my taste. I'm ready to just load my s*** up and go. I think 2k miles in 14 days is a relatively modest goal IMHO.

What part of MN North or South will you be traveling through? Have always thought North of St Paul was / is beautiful.

From Duluth down to Royalton on the Soo line trail. Then various county roads to sisseston SD

This kind of reminds me of a thing I came up with, the year I got out of High School. I bought a road bike and planned on working around home for the summer traveling South during the winter, picking up odd jobs during the adventure and moving on, well after rinding that bike all spring, summer and fall, that scheme went out the window and I met my wife that summer, HA! The rest is history!

I have an email out to Yellowstonenps.gov now inquiring as to whether or not we will be allowed passage through the park. I enformed them that there will be 5 Pioneer 1000's, all outfitted with the necessary accessories to make them street legal, all licensed and registered in South Dakota, all possessing street legal insurance, all capable of 60mph plus, so no problems maintaining posted speed limits, and that we are requesting passage into the east gate, remaining on the designated park road, exiting through the north gate into Montana, with a possible overnight in one of their designated campgrounds along that route. It says it could be up to two weeks to receive a response due to the volume of email requests that they receive.
