Had some plastic wrap and elastic band to close off the air intake while I was working on my p1000, totally spaced and started it so likely both items got sucked in. I drove up and down the neighborhood without any issues, until I realized what I did.......what to do, would this be just stuck somewhere where I can get to it or did I totally jack it?

Its in the air box. No harm other then restricting your air flow.
But getting air box lid off is kind of a PITA.
I have a post somewhere standby I'll find it

You can also use a 5mm allen socket 3/8 drive and a 6" extension. I think I may have used a 3/8 wobble also ......i dont have the long arm allen.....But yes, the air box is a real pain.

If you dont find your plastic there it is stuck somewhere in between. You could try a small flexible vacuum hose otherwise it's a good opportunity to pull it all apart and double check for any leaks.

Here is a PSA I made as NO ONE normally carries the tools to get the air box lid off.

P1000 - PSA - Honda Pioneer 1000 Air Box Removal Trail Tool box Addition!

Why the hell they made this thing so hard to get into is beyound me.

NOTE PRO TIP: if you remove the seat back (only 5 little bolts) all are Airbox screws are easily accessible with a regular Allen wrench. It is much easier to take off seat back and replace than fight the air box screws with it in place.

Got a really long T-handle with a bit works perfectly! The issue now is getting the plastic shield back on that sits in front of the air box...at this point not sure what is worse realizing you just sucked in a piece of plastic wrap or nursing a hangover and trying to get that shield back in...it came off, why won't it go back on!!! any tips on that? Taking a coffee break ;)

Didn't have any issues getting to the air box screws...the issue is getting this plastic shield back in place...can't figure out how to push it back in.

It should go back on exactly how it came off, I don't recall having any issues the 3x I have done it.

Make sure you have it behind the bar that dumps the box. With the bar pulled back it should tuck right in pretty easy.
