You got a box with double duty as a rear bumper when backing up in the woods.

Yessir. I put a mat in the bottom tonight. I had been looking at industrial floor mats but didn't like anything I saw. Found these interlocking tiles at Lowes made of recycled tires for $30 and stapled them down to fit. I really like how it came out and it should be tougher than a floor mat.

I had seen that one, wasn't sure if this was made by them or not.
I’m pretty sure I read in a post of his that it was, but i’m Sure they’ll chime in themselves

Before buying my P5, the rack intrigued me as a platform to be creative. As seen in this thread, there are many different takes. I had some aluminum laying around and found a hardware store that sells fasteners by the lb! 1"square tube and 1/4"x20 grade 5 bolts of various lengths. The 48" wide setup has sides that measure to my dogs chest. Although I am done besides maybe adding some sort of gate; I do enjoy seeing all these setups!

Looks nice @Solbergbbq , Customizing that flat rack to ones needs is the best. Glad it didn’t come with a limited size bed like the other models.

I'm curious with the rack and mods to the back how much each of them would weigh. I made mine out poplar 1" x 8" wood with proper u-bolt fasteners to the rack as well as wooden cleats to fasten each section to the lower wooden bottom, It weighs 26 lbs. It's very functional, but would like to lighten the weight requirement. I also do not want any squeeks, rattles, or noises coming from the rack/box. I do hunt and I get enough noise from the engine and other areas. I like the looks of the custom metal rigs but worry about the weight.

Agree, my first wooden box was so heavy, so changed to the aluminum cargo carrier, but also added a tool box with stuff, so back to heavy. But at least I now have emergency gear on rides. If not needing an enclosed box, the hitch cargo carriers are light and good for strapping things in, and padded for no squeeks.

Spent the past couple days cutting this apart and putting back together. cut 6" off the front of a cargo carrier and made it 1" narrower to match up with box width. Fastened the two together and added fire extinguisher with bracket. I also have a metal jerry can on order for the other side.
