If you rig up a wheel that you can put down on the road as your rolling that could turn a generator your movement would create power and you wouldn’t be creating green house gasses .

Pull the fuse on the truck that feeds trailer hot in your plug. Now you'll be safe and then just reinstall fuse when you are using trailer without generator. That will keep your 12 volt systems separate.

If someone is really concerned and going that route you could easily run a fuse extension and wire in a dash switch

This is what I’ve been thinking. Just switch the power from the truck.
