Well a couple days ago i recieved my AJK Offroad Packout base plate. Fit and finish is exceptional.
20210514 15160220210514 151552

Next i added a few of the Milwaukee Packout boxs. These things lock together with very little effort, and have hundreds of configuration options.

I did have to fab up an extension to make the bed tailgate lean out just a tad.

All the Packout stuff interlocks. The foot print of the cooler is a single wide item. The larger boxes are double width. So you can stack multi width boxes in hundreds of different configurations and they all lock to gether. No more having to strap or bungy cord stuff down.
If i wanted to carry 2 or even 3 coolers i could still carry other boxes on top or under the coolers.

I see Polaris and Can-AM AJK plates that are listed but are not as wide. Do you have the link?

Never mind. Found it and order placed. 4-6 week lead time on orders.

Oh yeah, I see the utility in those stacking boxes, I’m just curious about that base rack and what it’s purpose is?

The base rack provides a secure mounting point to the packout boxes and mounts to existing talon mount points. The AJK base rack is a larger version of what Milwaukee offers. Milwaukee's base mount is 2/3rds the size (width) so the AJK mount allows you to carry more. I wasn't sure about this until I saw the boxes at home depot and then saw the wider steel mount offered by AJK.

Looks useful! Do you hear that they’re secured strong enough to handle rough riding without coming loose?

if you bungee/strap something on top, with the base there what will you hook to?

thx

Yes i have been every way but upide down this week a t he Takeover. I have had NO problens with staying secured. I think the base would be easy to bungie to. The base is heavy material and think would easily except some small D rings to be added.

Cool. Just ordered it. Do like the idea of pulling out so can use bed around the property. Thanks for being a guinea pig to help us all.

I think if i were going to use the bed and leave the base in, i would get a piece of Tracktor supply trailer mat and cut to fit tthe bed . Then just drop it on top of the plate when needing the bed.
