And so it begins...I bought my p1k5 a couple weeks ago after almost a year of research. This is my first SxS but I have owned quite a few quads and a couple motorcycles. About a year ago we bought some property that connects onto the backside of my in laws property and together we have a couple hundred acres to ride and also to maintain. He currently has a Kawasaki Mule which is ok for building fence and things but he occasionally gets stuck and we have to pull him out with the tractor. I wanted the dump bed to work, power to pull, and the ability to ride trails with my wife and boy when we have free time. Pioneer was by far the beat option! I looked at rangers, but the crew is just way to long for trail riding where I live imho also I once owned a 500 sportsman and I spent more time working on it than riding it. The teryx4 was nice but I could not use it to work without a trailer which would not be convenient. I have owned 4 Honda’s and they have all served me well in the past. They were extremely reliable and durable, so the pioneer came home with me.

I have a few mods planned out of the gate and some potential for more later. Glaring things were the vent lines and skid plates so those are priority. I got my vent lines from @Bayouownbeer and they were quick and easy to install. They only took about 20minutes. I got my skid plates from S&S Fabrications. I saw where people were waiting months to receive them which initially worried me, but the price was great so I gave him a call. He was a great guy had them made and powder coated and ready for my pick up in 3 days. I live less than 100miles away so I just drove down and got them. I hope to put them on today since it’s raining. My wife wanted a roof so we settled on the superATV tinted roof. I got it put on yesterday and I had to get creative to do it solo. I would definitely recommend getting a helping hand to put it on. I put tools on top of bolts to hold them down so I could start nuts, and wedged wrenches against the roll cage to tighten them down.

I also got PBR switch plate with cup holders and OTRATTW switches. Once I get everything in I will start putting it all together. There have been a few delays with the Covid-19 stuff going on.

I bought a set of S&S skids a few weeks ago. No issues here either. He even met me halfway to deliver them. I started the install last night. Got the factory bolts out back in. Will put the additional bolts/self tappers in tonight. I like the fit of these.

Welcome from the Ozarks! Looks like you’re off to a good start. For me working on these things is half of the fun. Enjoy!

With work going crazy during all this corona stuff my time to finish my build has been limited. My garage is full of parts that need put on. The only small changes recently have been cosmetics from rad kustoms. Cup holders to fit my big tumbler with required a little Dremel work and covers around the shifters to reduce the airflow and highlight your selections.

So Father’s Day weekend allowed me some time to get some things done on the pioneer. I installed my 4500 lb rough country winch with kfi mount. This was a bit of a pain to the the last bolt in on the bottom of the the bumper on the passenger side so I too a step bit an increased the bolt hole size a smidge to get it to fit and rubber mallets and pry bars failed. It all turned out well and I just temporarily mounted the switch in the middle of the warning sticker until I completely finish my wiring harness for my switch plate. I also installed my buss bar I’m using for ground so I don’t have 10 things wired to my battery.
