You think it needs it? For stability? Maybe wider so if the machine shifts up or down there will be more of a shearing force on the rivets instead of a tension force? Seems like if the lower/upper edge catches it might try to pull the rivets out.
Judging by the directions of the scrapes these take in that might be goodYeah, that's a good idea. A piece that's twice as wide or more.
Where are you ordering them from?Just the plastic roof. I'm thinking about ordering some more for my fathers and then putting a second strip on mine.
Doors are on, fitment is not very good there's a gap between the front of the door and the A-pillar you could drive a 500 through... not happy about that. The fabric could have been an inch extra or there could have been plastic fillers like there were on the 700. The Velcro loop at the top of the door on the inside remains to be seen as to how much benefit it will give.
I suppose it will be a lot better than nothing, definitely keep the majority of the cold wind, rain, and snow off this weekend. Those conditions are all I bought them for anyway.
Might consider a heater next year depending on just how much cold air gets through. I prefer t-shirts to parkas.
That's just terrible for what you pay. Really? You would think they could do better than that for the price.
Actually, there are some custom jobs on the forum that are better.
It just sucks because I'd be a buyer but not for the Honda version.
Mine sit pretty much like that until you pull them in and hook the velcro loop. It pulls them almost sealed at that point. I agree they aren't as good as they should be for what you pay, but they will be better than that once you hook the Velcro.

Not really it shrinks the gap from an 1" to maybe ⅝" if it took it to a ¼ or ⅛ I'd be much happier.
The Velcro does help, and I think it will keep the doors pulled in at 40-50 on roads.
I don't want this to turn into a 50 post rant.
I stood on my soapbox now I've stepped down. I was simply sharing my disappointment in the fitment and sharing with others so they can make an informed purchase. They mount much better than the 700, they were floppy. I think they will accomplish what I wanted them for, for the most part. Do wish the fit better for the price.
A nutsert tool is VERY beneficial for install. The bolt and nut method will work but it doesn't make for a very good compression on the nutsert.
I agree. I was disappointed in the fit as well. Buying from Honda I expected much better. Mine pretty much touch the roll bar all the way around when that Velcro is hooked. Not sure the difference. I hate having to hook the Velcro every time I open and close the door though. And towing with them on is a huge PITA. I have started rolling them down but then they rub on themselves and create bad scuffs on the clear windows... overall I'd pay half the price I paid and be happy...

My rears are a complete catastrophe and aren't worth a dollar in my opinion. Did you buy those?

Would a bulb type weather strip work to help seal it up?
Decided to go with the Blackwater Evos 30x10x14 BECAUSE they are only 28.5 at @10psi. After riding it a couple hundred miles, I like the power and favor less stress on the drivetrain. No lift, just arched arms to get 3" extra wheel base and a bit more clearance.
After seeing the damage sticks are inflicting, I am not going to carry my girls around in it till I feel they are better protected.
